Philosophy No more traffic jams and weekend driving bans: We navigate downstream from Mannheim to Rotterdam in only 25 hours.

Philosophy

The Rhine Ro-Ro Service B.V. is operated as a joint venture by the shareholders Interrijn, Nautica and Rhenus (formerly Wincanton Rhenania). The inland waterway shipping service on the Rhine is also known as the “floating motorway”. The first special barge, the MS Vera, already called Mannheim in June 1985. The MS Dynamica followed a short time later.

Both barges, which are each equipped with two loading decks and a ramp, travel according to a fixed timetable between the upper Rhine stations Wörth/Mannheim and the seaports Rotterdam/Antwerp.

Trailer, trucks and tractors as well as project cargo, which is able to roll, drive on their own wheels on board. Kettles, machines, heavy goods or industrial goods with a unit weight of up to 160 tonnes are loaded over the RoRo ramps on to the Dynamica or the Vera on flat beds. The “floating motorway” travels every week environmental-friendly, safely and dependably via the Rhine to the seaports and naturally also back.
